Chromatic Club Competition
Competition Details
The competition is open to all young musicians between the ages of 6 through high school and to college students.*
Winners will be announced June 6
Application deadline: June 1
Each contestant will receive an email confirmation
All awards are presented at the Winners Recital.
Repertoire performed will be selected by the Competition judges.
To apply, please fill out the Online Application Form and submit your payment using one of the methods below.
*Previous winners cannot compete in the same category.
Registration fee:
$30 (non-refundable) for student and collegiate members of the Chromatic Club
$50 (non-refundable) for young musicians who are not members of the Chromatic Club

Elementary
- Ages 6-10 as of June 1
- Two pieces in contrasting styles/ periods.
- Maximum audition time will be 7 minutes.

Buffalo Philharmonic ticket for the Chromatic Club’s Community Spotlight date
Chromatic Club free membership for one year
2nd Prize

Junior
- Ages 11-14 as of June 1
- A program of choice which will include contrasting styles and periods.
- Maximum audition time will be 10 minutes.
1st Prize
$75 offered by the Chromatic Club of Buffalo

Senior
- Ages 15-18 as of June 1
- A program of choice which will include contrasting styles and periods.
- Maximum audition time will be 25 minutes.

College Students
- No age limits.
- A program of choice which will include 3-4 contrasting styles and periods (or languages for singers).
- A full recital program of 45-60 minutes.
- Chamber music is encouraged as part of the recital program
- Students must provide their own accompanist if needed

Appearance at part of the Friends Concert Series and a $200 honorarium
